Bill Roberts was born in small town Deniliquin. He first picked up a guitar when he was 5 years old, and learnt various styles over the years, but truly started to find the sound he now calls his own when he moved from rural NSW to coastal Port Macquarie. At 16 he started busking on the streets, where he would spend every weekend singing his heart out for change. Not too long after that, he had the opportunity to play at an open mic night at a small local bar called "The Pier". This opened his eyes to all the music around him, playing alongside other talented artists (Blake Noble, James Bennett, Kita), sparking an indescribable passion for music.
These weekly open mic nights quickly progressed to paid gigs in local venues like The Beach House, The Pier and Bluewater amongst others.
This is where Bill first started to write his own songs, a few of which he compiled into his debut EP, “Rooms For The Future” in 2013. From there after finishing high school, he expanded his search for supporting venues and has toured the Mid-North Coast ever since, which allowed him to explore his sound as a solo acoustic artist, commonly compared to the likes of artists like John Mayer, Ben Howard and Jack Johnson.
In 2019 Bill began experimenting and building a home recording space, where he went on to record, produce and mix a hoard of new songs. Some of these were compiled into his first full length album, "Falling Into Place" released in September 2020.
LIVE MUSIC IS BACK!
With live music making a return after a difficult few months, I am making a return with a series of live shows. Live streams have been A LOT of fun, and I think they will continue occasionally, but I am so excited to be back to performing live.
